Let's start out with some background information. We're sure most of you know about the weather we've been having out here. For those of you that don't know, Mother Nature has turned her wrath towards California by dousing us with what seems like 40 days and 40 nights of non-stop rain. Consequently, there have been mudslides and flooding and other typical rain-related events. However, there is one event we wanted to draw your attention to. There was a huge series of mudslides in La Conchita, a small town between Santa Barbara and Camarillo, that trapped a bunch of vehicles, took some vehicles for a ride, and pretty much shut the freeway down. During this mudslide, a series of pictures were taken from a news helicopter and appeared in our local newspaper, the Ventura County Star. Here is one.

At this point, you're probably saying, "What's with this picture?" If you look closely, the SUV behind the white car is a Mercury Mountaineer. That's Ted Fox's truck. The guy in the red jacket, donning a cap and talking on the cell phone is, you guessed it, Ted. Don't know who Ted is? He's Carrie's dad. Jim's father-in-law. Carson, Natalie and Claire's grandpa. So, we have a new addition to our household for a while until CalTrans can clear this mess up and re-open the road to Santa Barbara. Oh, Happy Birthday, Carol!!!!!!
